The Paria Peninsula or Tierra Gracia as named by Christopher Columbus in 1498 when on his third voyage the explorer discovered the place is in Sucre State of northern Venezuela. It separates the Gulf of Paria and Caribbean Sea. Besides variety of places going from the most beautiful beaches, to the jungle, to the mountains and to the prairies, the peninsula homes two national parks: National Park of Paria located across the width of the peninsula and Turuepano National Park in the heart of the delta of Paria.
