A globally reputed photographer, writer, curator and activist whose ongoing "A Struggle for Democracy” is a milestone in documentary photography practice in Bangladesh. A former president of the Bangladesh Photographic Society, Alam set up the award winning Drik agency, the Bangladesh Photographic Institute and Pathshala, the South Asian Institute of Photography. Alam has been shown in MOMA in New York, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and was given the Shilpakala Award in 2015 (highest award for cultural activities) for his contribution to the arts in Bangladesh.

He has managed cross-cultural teams in South Asia, Africa, and the UK. While being CEO of Drik Bangladesh and Drik-Bengal Muslin, he has researched and published a book on Bangladesh’s legendary fabric, muslin, and led the team which produced a groundbreaking exhibition and documentary on it.
Operation ManagerKantha has joined Majority World as Operation Manager in July 2019, replacing Thushan Gunatunga, who has migrated abroad. Kantha has a background as a Web Administrator for the travel trade for the last 15 years. He also has a good knowledge of Software and Graphic Designing. During his leisure time, Kantha play‘s rugby and cricket and watches films (especially documentary). He has a great love for photography too, and has completed a photography course to improve his knowledge on Photography. Kantha will be overlooking the image processing side, and the person to make contact with for Photographer needs.
Accounts & FinanceLorraine has provided bookkeeping and administrative support to Majority World on a self employed basis in the UK since 2008. Her role within the business is management of the accounting system including financial transactions and providing information to the directors and accountant.
