Description:
32 years old Rufkat Marcus, mother of five children, is from Gava in Gwoza, Borno State. She escaped to a mountain, where she spent one year before her family was captured by Boko Haram. All female captives of Boko Haram interviewed, at various times and in different communities, claim they were all well-treated by members of Boko Haram, without any form of sexual harassment. Prior to the capture of Rufkat Marcus, her husband had left her on the mountain, but he travelled to Baga, where he was killed when the village was over-ran by Boko Haram.
