The annual Mayurapatil Pehahera procession of the Sri Lankan Tamils starts from the Mayurapatil temple in Colombo and after going round the city ends at the same place. The ritual is basically dedicated to the Goddess Amman (the Tamil resemblance of the Goddess Durga) though other deities like Ganesh and Shankar are also worshipped.
