Dhaka, Bangladesh. 10th February 2026. Womenâs and human rights groups took part in the âShekol Bhangar Jatraâ (March to Break the Shackles). They protested and condemned what they described as misogynistic politics and hate speech by Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, accusing the party of openly degrading working women and promoting discrimination under the cover of religion. The protest was organised by the International Womenâs Day Celebration Committee, and other womenâs and human rights organisations, in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka.
