The protestors demanded that the President resigns. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Intersex and Queer community came together to gain visibility, social, and self-acceptance, and demand for legal rights of the community. Pride is a celebration of diversity, equality, unity, and freedom. This was the first time a pride protest march was held in Sri Lanka.
