Description:
The 60 story high minaret of the Hassan II Mosque (colloquially known as the "Casablanca Hajj") is framed within the arch of walkway, in Casablanca, Morocco. Completed in 1993, it was designed by Michel Pinseau and is the largest mosque in Africa, the 5th largest in the world. The mosque stands on a promontory looking out to the Atlantic Ocean; worshippers can pray over the sea and a maximum of 105,000 worshippers can gather together for prayer.
