Description:
Josephine, is a 50 year old woman who lives on the outskirts of the city of Masaka in Central Uganda. Her husband is a retired driver. Josephine had 10 children. Two of whom she lost to AIDS, leaving her with seven grandchildren to look after. Josephine joined BRAC in 2009 as a model farmer. She said, âI wanted to be an example for others in my communityâ.
She received training and with her first loan, she bought two cows to help cultivate her land. She has since taken another loan. Josephine worked hard and produces coffee, maize and vegetables.
She has also constructed a small shack in from of her house for meetings with other farmers.
