A plastic bowl containing betel leaves, locally known as paan, which is chewed with the white "chun" slaked lime (calcium hydroxide), shavings of areca nuts (betel nut) or supari and tobacco leaves. The ingredients are wrapped in a pack of betel leaf is known as a "betel quid", or khili in Bangla. It is a popular chewing mixture among the stone labourers of Jaflong, in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
