Description:
This is a beautiful example of the influences that more modern settlers have had on the Basutu Culture. A Victorian steel bed with proper bedding sits in this bedroom. In a building with separate rooms some of these houses eventually had coal stoves. The floor, however, is still traditional and made from a mixture of mud and cow manure. With the trademark Basutu designs on the walls the Basutu people's love for bright colours is a very evident. The overall effect is a nice blend of ideas and influences between the old and new.
