Description:
The blood-red character, 'bao', means to respond or return. This is one of the four characters, jing zhong bao guo, which means, to serve the motherland with utmost loyalty. These four characters are inscribed on the walls of the memorial building above the spirit tablets of Kuomintang martyrs. There are altogether 360 tablets displaying all the names of those who are still remembered by their descendants. These are the most valuable historical evidence proving that every soldier had fought to his last breathing moment in the battlefield for the sake of his ideals. Chiang Rai, Thailand.
