Description : Part of the series Hush Ñ a project that maps the various stories of a group of Palestinian women, each of whom Ñ for one reason or another Ñ became a victim of gender-based violence and was consequently placed in a shelter or a so-called safe house...ÒI had to wait for more than a year to get my thyroid gland tumour removed. The shelter could not cover the costs of the surgery and decided not to tell me about my condition. I lost a lot of weight, had problems sleeping and felt very weak. When my doctor saw me he was very shocked that I still had not undergone the surgery. He then informed me that I had cancer. No one really cares if we die in this shelter. None of my family members visited me when I was at the hospital.Ó - Abeer
