Much of the advancements in technology have bypassed these isolated communities where males dominate and women shoulder the burden of farming and carrying out other livelihoods. Santals are also the largest ethnic group in India where they have settlements in the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, and Assam.
