Description : Two girls in a class at the government run Pul-e-Rangeena Primary School for girls, in the northwestern city of Herat, Afghanistan. May 6, 2009. Like many other schools in Afghanistan this school has also been overwhelmed with children returning after many years of conflict. Around 9000 children attend this school in three shifts. .It is difficult for the school management to house all the children in proper classrooms with the main building having only 20 classrooms and even after setting up 43 tents in the school premises, hundreds of children have to attend claases in the open.
