Description : A girl from the ethic Rakhain community takes part in the water festival, in Cox?s Bazar, Bangladesh. The ?Shangrain?, popularly known as the water festival of the ethnic Rakhain community is held on the eve of Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New Year?s Day, which occurs due the basis of their religious belief. Young boys and girls throw water at each other on this festival. The community follows Buddhism and they believe that water acts as a cleansing agent, which purifies the mind and the body, and washes away the impurities of the past and ushers in a New Year free from stain.
