Description : A young boy transports water for drinking purpose on his donkey from a fresh water spring in the mountains to his draught affected village Maluma, 6 km away from the water source, in the district of Karokh, located some 60 km from the western city of Herat. The terrain is very difficult and the journey often takes over two hours. He can carry as much as 6 gallons of water each time. When he has the time and energy, he also sells the water to people in his village.
