Description : The Kandy War Cemetery is a serene final resting place for Commonwealth servicemen. Formerly known as the Pitakande Military Cemetery, it is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, and contains graves from both World War I and World War II. It serves as a burial ground for 196 Allied officers and men from seven different nations. The site is located near the Peradeniya Botanical Garden in central Sri Lanka.
