- Description: Sitting on a pile of garbage near Sadarghat Ferry Terminal in Old Dhaka, a group of street children sniff glue from plastic bags, a type of addiction. They have all come from different rural areas and are living on the streets of old Dhaka near the ferry terminal. They scavenge for papers and bags and each earn between Taka 100 to 150 per day which is equivalent to 1.5 to 2 dollar. Most street children do one or other kind of drugs and it is not uncommon amongst them to engage in sexual activities to pay for their food and addiction. According to a report done by Incidin-Bangladesh on street children in Kamlapur Railwat Station, a similar transit point, over 90 percent of street children aged between 7 to 12 years were sexually exploited.
