Description:
Densely populated Dhaka is at high risk of disaster by earthquake. To accommodate its 12 million people in 820 square kilometers the city continues to develop its housing without proper planning or safety measures. Experts from Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) after a survey on its 326,000 buildings found that a 7 to 7.5 earthquake is likely to destroy 72,000 buildings and partially damage 85,000, killing at least 90,000 people.
