During a weekly group meeting, female community representatives discuss their problems at Integrated Care Society, ICS, an NGO in Ein Helwan in suburban Cairo, where many families settled after the 1992 earthquake. The project covers 15,000 families, including 3,200 families from the neighbouring squatter settlement. Since 1999, the programme has been restructured and redefined into a child-centered protection and development programme. ICS runs 42 literacy classes in the neighbourhood. Cairo, Egypt.
